Tensas Community Health Center in St. Joseph, Louisiana provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and accept private insurance, private pay based on income (sliding scale), Medicare and Medicaid. ​

Tensas Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals. As such, it is a deemed FTCA site.

Additionally, TCHC is recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home.

Patient Centered Medical Home

TCHC’s patient centered approach provides for coordination of your care across multiple settings, such as specialists. We understand that not all of your care can be provided on-site, but we can arrange for care that can’t be provided and assist in obtaining your appointments and results. You have the opportunity to select a

primary care provider at TCHC who will oversee all of your care. You may select to change that provide by notifying the Front Desk Staff of any requests.
